LiquidAssets.tv, producers of "Into the Drink," is proud to support the Diveheart Foundation. Diveheart was founded in 2001 to provide and support educational scuba diving and snorkeling experience programs that are open to any child, adult, or veteran with a disability with the hope of providing both physical and psychological therapeutic value to that person. It is the "can do" spirit that Diveheart hopes to instill in all its participants by giving them the confidence and independence that allows them to face their own life challenges and overcome barriers that before might have seemed insurmountable. September 11-18, 2009
See the oceans' apex predator up-close and personal off Baja California

LiquidAssets.tv films another episode of “Into the Drink” at Guadalupe Island, Mexico, aboard the MV Nautilus Explorer, arguably the world’s best place to get in the water with great white sharks. This customized itinerary for this episode of “Into the Drink” is like no other offered in the region. Reliable interaction with white sharks at calm and sheltered dive sites, magnificent visibility in exceptionally blue water, combined with easy access via San Diego, make this the best place in the world to go face-to-face with great white sharks.

Friday, September 11, 2009
Arrive in San Diego, California to begin the adventure with great white sharks. We will have a hospitality suite available after 1pm. “Meet and greet” with one of our staff members in the late afternoon and transfer to the ship in Ensenada by chartered highway coach. The trip itinerary and transfer should be seamless—the driving time from San Diego to Ensenada is two hours, 15 minutes. Evening departure and overnight run to Guadalupe Island. The Nautilus Explorer is a heavy steel stabilized ship and the downhill run in open ocean should be quite comfortable.

Saturday, September 12, 2009
At sea. Welcome aboard safety briefing. Presentation on Guadalupe great white sharks. Afternoon video and cocktail hour. Arrival at our sheltered anchorage at Guadalupe Island just before dinner time. We will put our shark cages in the water tonight.

Sunday, September 13, 2009
Cages open for diving at 6:30am. Shoreline expeditions daily while on site to check out the local populations of elephant seals, Guadalupe fur seals, California sea lions and even the odd feral cat. We will wrap up the diving at sunset and finish the day with a crab feast on the hot tub deck under the Mexican sky.

Monday, September 14 - Tuesday, September 15, 2009
Cages open for diving from 6:30am until sunset. As Captain Mike always says, “you can’t see the sharks if you’re not in the water.” This isn’t strictly true, as the surface action with the white sharks can be almost as thrilling as being in the cages. Plus, we will also have an underwater shark cam setup and constantly playing on the 42-inch plasma screen in the main salon.

Wednesday, September 16 - Thursday, September 17, 2009
Scuba diving days at the remote and seldom visited beautiful kelp forests and reefs of San Benitos Island on the Pacific side of Baja California. Most diving will be open boat off the back deck of the Nautilus Explorer at the edge of the giant kelp forest. Elephant seals, sea lions and fur seals are all resident here. There will be ample opportunity for kayaking and even a shore visit.

Friday, September 18, 2009
Morning slideshow of the trip’s highlights with copies for everyone to take home. Pre-breakfast, breakfast, snack and lunch (nobody ever goes hungry on the Nautilus Explorer) arriving at Ensenada at approximately 1:30pm for port clearance and coach transfers back to San Diego.

Price of this unique Great White Shark Adventure ranges from $3,395 $2,850 for a stateroom to $3,795 $3,250 for an executive suite, per person, based on accommodations (see options below). All meals are included.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Staterooms: $2,850 per person > Typical of the lower deck staterooms, Suite G features side-by-side berths, “under bed” storage for suitcases, air-conditioning and private washroom and shower. Staterooms A and B are configured differently and best suited for couples. All staterooms are approximately 90 square feet.

Upper Deck Executive Suites, $3,250 per person > Two executive suites are located immediately forward of the hot tub deck. With large picture windows, a private outside entrance, desk, hanging closet and shelves as well as a private washroom with shower, these cabins can definitely be described as “comfortable.” Either suite can be configured with a “quasi-king” or two double beds.

NOTES

What to Pack: Drysuit or wetsuit, mask, booties. Contact us with any rental requests that you might have with your name, trip date, height, weight, chest, waist, inseam and shoe size. You can expect water temps in the high 60ºs or low 70ºs, and some divers prefer to bring gloves and a hood, or even a drysuit. The captain often comments that he is comfortable and happy in a 5mm wetsuit. Surface weather should be very nice, and summer clothing, i.e., shorts and t-shirts and sandals, will be fine for most of the trip. We recommend bringing a sweater and windbreaker/rain jacket just in case.

What's not included: Gift shop and bar tab, port fee ($65 payable in cash onboard) and crew gratuities (generally 10% of the trip fee if you feel that the crew worked really hard to go way above and beyond).
