October 9-16, 2011
The LiquidAssets.tv crew travels to the exotic Maldives to film another episode of "Into the Drink." The beautiful, brand-new live-aboard MV Carpe Vita Explorer will be our floating home away from home as we discover the fishy atolls of the Maldives. The 20-passenger, 125-foot wooden-hull safari yacht is set to launch in early 2011. It will provide guests with an exceptional and luxurious yachting experience, large, hotel-style staterooms, Jacuzzi and unmatched open-air comfort.
The reefs of the Maldives are teeming with life, and divers encounter many different species found in few other places. There are lionfish, anemonefish, octopus as well as many species of moray eels. The Maldives are also known for the big animals. Whale sharks, mantas, and dolphins are often seen and sea turtles are observed on almost every dive. It's not unusual to find sleeping white tip reef sharks during the day dives and then see them hunting at night. The dive guides are very good at finding rare creatures like blue ribbon eels, frogfish and scorpionfish. The coral reefs in the Maldives are healthy and colorful with schools of beautiful tropical fish in abundance.
The MV Carpe Vita Explorer will depart from and disembark in Male (MLE).
