Diveheart was founded in 2001 to provide and support educational scuba diving and snorkeling experience programs that are open to any child, adult, or veteran with a disability with the hope of providing both physical and psychological therapeutic value to that person. It is the "can do" spirit that Diveheart hopes to instill in all its participants by giving them the confidence and independence that allows them to face their own life challenges and overcome barriers that before might have seemed insurmountable. Arrive in Athens and transfer to the town of Lavrio, where the Meltemi will be waiting. We will board the Meltemi, stow all gear and then have a pre-dive briefing to plan the dives to be visited, check out divers and gear. Dinner that evening will be at a local taverna in the small town of Lavrio.
Wednesday, July 13
Thursday, July 14
Friday, July 15
Dive off Lavrio and the surrounding islands of Petrokala, Macronisa, Fleves. We will plan on three dives per day, depending upon depths and bottom times. Dives will be on a variety of sites including wrecks, caves and, if conditions allow, a night dive. At the end of each day's diving, we will be anchored at small island ports, where we have a chance to visit the islands' attractions and enjoy the night life. One day will include a visit to the Temple of Poseidon sitting on the hilltop of Sounion with a spectacular view of the entrance to the Aegean Sea.
Saturday, July 16
Dive off of Kea, a great little island just south of Lavrio, with colorful tavernas, a small hill town of Chora. Dive site options will be marine life, wrecks, and caves.
Sunday, July 17
Dive off of Kythnos, an island with mountainous terrain, thermal springs, and picturesque villages. Here, dive options include wrecks, cliffs, and lots of marine life. Night dives are also an option.
Monday, July 18
Diving options here include the island of Syros, or sail off to the Epidaurus area. Each location offers great dive options. Syros was the largest trade center of the Aegean and now plays a prominent role in Greek culture. Epidaurus has the ancient theater designed back in Greece's Hellenic period of 400 B.C.

Wednesday, July 20
Disembark the Meltemi and drive off to a local winery where traditional Greek Retsina is made, a very special wine. It takes determination to try it, and then fortitude to stay with it and if successful, you'll be a true Greek.
Thursday, July 21
We end this adventure in Athens with a tour of the Acropolis, and as many of the most significant sites of present day and ancient city of Athens as we can fit in. Time is the only limit to what we can see. In the evening, day's end, filming done, friendships formed; we treat ourselves to a night on the town. Greek food, drink and dancing.
